Std : Vlll Unit : Share and Care Chapter : Solitude (poem)

This is a story book based on the story of 8th std 'Nightingale and the rose'.The story shares the theme of nature's helping power when man is in trouble. Objectives  * For the easy understanding of the plot of the story  *To promote the students a picturised idea of the story  *To develop the reading habit of the students.  There is a profile of the author and and glossary of  new words in the book.It is mainly focused on below average students for better understanding of the story.The illustrations are made by the student teacher.

This was the last week of our internship.There were three working days and wednesday was the last day at school.The chapter the grammar part of the chapter A Day in the Country was taught in 8A class.Adverbs(concept attainment model),profile writing (advance organiser model) and articles(direct instructional model) were the topics.In 9B The Trio  was completed.The students were emotional when we left the school.We shared laddu in the class as well as staff room and avoided regular chocolates as they add to plastic waste.The headmaster and teachers provided us a good farewell.       It was a wonderful experience for us. 

An English Wall was created for pasting news headlines , a 'word of the day' ,and the art works created by the students.Political,economic and educational news headlines are pasted everyday.A new word with its' meaning in english as well malayalam is pasted in the middle part.After 100 days there will be a Word writing competition based on that in which a prize of thousand rupees was announced by the faculty of english.         I could paint the wall with the help of Mr.Sreekumar sir and the students of 8th std. A reading corner was also set up by us.It was a pleasant experience for me. 

Students were given slight exercise and directed them to play throw ball.

The very first day of the week began with an assembly  for distributing medals for the sub district sports meet winners from the school. In 8A class A Day in the Country  was completed and 'adverbs' were taught in the concept attainment model.In 9B class the new chapter A Prayer in Spring taught.The next and last chapter The Trio was began to teach.In the week Surech Babu and Joona J came to my class for observation. On tuesday there was a rally on 'Anti drug use'. Students participated in the rally with a great enthusiasm.They brought placards which were made by themselves.On the same day there was parents meeting.The subdistrict Mathematics Fest was started on friday at the school.       It was a good week. 

"The above image is the way to our school and it was clicked in the thursday(16 Jan) morning by me.Those are the first pair of flowers in the line and attracted me by it's light lavender shade in the midst of leaf green;the evidence for the naturalness of a government school.I am waiting for those future blossoms !"

We are at the last weeks of teaching practice.The fifth week was another special one.The week had began with an assembly on monday to distribute medals for the school sports meet winners.In the regular classes in 8 A. 'A Day in the Country' was taken upto lesson plan 9. IN 9.B 'The Happiness Machine' was completed and follow up activities were also done by the students.We the student teachers in english had conducted  ourconscientisation programme on the topic ' Drug Awareness' in 9.B.It was a success.Teachers and students cooperated with us.We could participate in the programme another group also. Amitha, Neethu, Suresh and Sanoj came to my class for observation in turn I went to the classes of Sanoj and Suresh.The achievement test was conducted based on the fifth unit.On friday, our physical education teacher came to the school for observation.I took the 'Ardha kati chakrasana' in the yoga class in 9.B.          We have only two weeks left for teaching...

School Assembly Headmaster Mr.John William sir distributes medals for the winners of school sports meet

After ten days of X'Mas vacation the class restarted on 30th december 2019.I reached school with a little lazyness like a student but energized again by the teachers and my students.I had my regular classes in 8A and extra classes in 9.B. In 8th std The new chapter  A DAY IN THE COUNTRY  was started and the first five parts was taken.It was a story of two orphan children and an old cobbler who came to their life later. In 9th std The new chapter THE HAPPINESS MACHINE was taught. There was a national holyday in the week(Mannam Jayanthi-Jan 2) and saturday was a substitutional working day for that.Answer papers were distributed to students and most of them had achieved good marks in english, others were encouraged to study better.My teacher came for observation on Jan 3rd. I had my peers in the class including Prajith PS,Nithin NK,Joona J and Jaimy Joseph for observation.The diagnostic test was conducted(8A- Unit 4) this week.I got discipline duty in noon time.We served meals fo...

The syllabus of 8th std contains the story  'A day in the country' which is written by Chekhov. It pays homage to an unsung hero, a homeless cobbler whose name is Terenty.  In the beginning of the story a beggar girl named Fyokla, who is 6 years old comes running through a village. The village is preparing for an approaching storm. She addresses everyone as “uncle”. She is searching for some particular person. She finally finds Terenty in the kitchen-garden. He is a “tall old man with a thin, pock-marked face, very long legs, and bare feet, dressed in a woman’s tattered jacket”. He does not look like a hero.                 But Fyokla is searching desperately for someone to help in freeing her brother Danilka, whose hand is stuck in a tree. Terenty does not give importance to the approaching storm and talking reassuringly in fatherly tones he goes to free Fyokla’s brother.  ...
